Yes - it was purely focused on academic research, and identifying leading research universities in the AR space. Of course there is a very different map that could be drawn in terms of commercial apps, art projects, etc. Scopus provides an easy way to find who is publishing and their relative impact. There are other tools that could be used such as Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, etc.
